AN AWARD-WINNING farm enterprise and visitor attraction marked VE Day in a special way.
The key workers on site at Cannon Hall Farm, near Barnsley, which won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2020 Northern Farmer Awards, had a treat from their colleague, health and safety manager John Hopkinson.
John, who is from Tankersley and plays in a local brass band, fetched his cornet in to work to perform a special musical tribute, with a wartime flavour to mark VE Day.
The site's farmers and animals came to the field to watch his emotional performance (at appropriate distances).
The performance was live-streamed on the farm’s Facebook page.
