A heavily pregnant sheep stranded on a rock ledge for three days was brought to safety by members of the Cave Rescue Organisation.
The owner of the ewe thought it would get down itself from Warrendale Knotts, above Settle, but after three days called for help.
A spokesperson for Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) said: "A farmer spotted one of his heavily pregnant ewes stranded on a ledge at Warrendale Knotts, above Settle. He left it, hoping it would self-rescue when it became hungry, but with plenty of grass it appeared quite happy and so after three days he called Cave Rescue Organisation, via North Yorkshire Police.
"Arriving on scene, one member was lowered to the ledge, distracting the sheep with feed nuts. Grabbing the ewe, he and another member wrestled it into an animal rescue bag. Bag and team member were lowered gently to the foot of the crag where the farmer re-united the sheep with the rest of the flock."
