A couple who spent many years farming in the rural valley of Bransdale in North Yorkshire have celebrated sixty years of marriage.
Brian and Joyce Wood from Kirkbymoorside celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary on April 13.
Brian was a farmer from Starfitts Lane near Kirkbymoorside and Joyce a nurse from Oulston near Easingwold.
They met when Joyce came to work at the children’s orthopaedic hospital in Kirkbymoorside
The couple were married on April, 13 1963 at Coxwold Church which was Easter Saturday and a freezing cold day.
They spent their married life farming in Bransdale until they retired to Kirkbymoorside where they enjoy lots of activities including gardening at the allotments and charity work as well as being church wardens at All Saints' Church.
The couple have a daughter Gill, who is married to Dave , four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren They celebrated with a get together with family last Sunday.
