Do you have a furry friend who likes to think they can eat anything you’re eating? It’s worth knowing what foods your dog can eat and which aren’t good for them to avoid causing them any harm.

While it might be tempting to give your dog an extra treat here or there, it’s not always the best idea.

To help you out, Blue Cross has listed the fruits and vegetables your dog can eat.

Is it safe for a dog to eat apples?

Dogs can eat apples, in fact, it’s “fantastic” to include them in their diet, the Blue Cross says.

The fruit provides Vitamin A and Vitamin C as well as dietary fibre.

That’s not all though as apples can help keep your furry friend’s teeth clean and even help them have fresh breath.

Before giving apples to your dog, you should make sure the core and seeds are removed because the seeds “contain a low amount of a toxin called cyanide”.

This chemical is only released when the seeds are chewed and like humans, if dogs happen to swallow “a couple of pips”, it’s unlikely to cause them any health problems.

When it comes to fruits and vegetables, dogs are also safe to eat carrots, green beans, strawberries and more.
