A family-friendly event organised by farm and garden supplier Sam Turner and Sons raised more than £2,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service.
Sammies Sunday Funday returned to the firm's base at Darlington Road, Northallerton, on Sunday, July 21, attracting between 3,000 and 4,000 visitors to enjoy various activities in warm sunshine.
Challenges included "scoop a duck", "ferret roulette", "pigs in buckets" and a test of strength, along with a prize draw, with a total of £2,253.07 raised on the day.
Local organisations represented included Adrian Wood Blacksmith, North Yorkshire Amusements, Bumpercarz, Elegant Marquees, Northdale, Rose & Kilt bar, Great Smeaton Young Farmers, Russell’s, Northallerton Rugby Club, Northallerton Town Junior Football Club, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, BASC and Skinners, along with trade and craft stands, a few farm animals, vintage tractors and entertainment from Encore School of Dance, Mikey Dowson and Joe Blades Acoustic Duo, Eagle Ukes and Stu’s Magic Show.
Charlie Turner thanked all who attended the Sunday Funday and helped make it a huge success that it was, adding that it would not have been possible without the efforts of the Sammie’s Funday organising team.
