Past and present members of Durham City Young Farmers' Club came together on Saturday, November 2 for a 75th anniversary ball.
Chairman, Jessica Stewart, and president, Diane Coles, both said a few words to reflect on the milestone, before a game of heads and tails rounded off a three-course meal at Bowburn Hall Hotel.
Guests then danced the night away to band The Radical Jacks.
Organisers said a huge thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who donated prizes for the auction and raffle, helping raise some much needed funds for the running of the club, Richard Gilson who was the auctioneer for the night, and the ball committee who worked so hard to stage the event.
A club spokesperson said: "As a club, Durham City YFC has gone from strength to strength in recent years. With the rekindling of the connection with Houghall, there has been an influx of college age members, with the club now being made up of around 25 members aged ten to 28. Their status is no longer a small club but a thriving one.
"Members get involved in all sorts of different competitions, representing County Durham in northern area and national competitions for debating, stockjudging, sports and jump rope, to name just a few.
"It’s been really encouraging to see members give things a go – and hopefully this can continue too, with the competition year just getting started!"
The club has got packed programme for the forthcoming year to celebrate the 75-year landmark, and says everyone is welcome to join meetings. Anyone interested can contact durhamcityyfc@hotmail.com for further information.
